Welcome to Champion Forest, a prestigious, wooded retreat in the heart of northwest Houston built around nature and family, value and community. Adjacent to the Raveneaux County Club, Champion Forest’s combination of beautiful homes, rich natural environment and neighborhood spirit make it a dynamic place to live.
Development of Champion Forest began in 1970 driven by the efforts of Don Hand, known as the “Father of 1960.” Aiming to develop the premiere subdivision in north Harris County, Mr. Hand began with 900 acres of farmland what would be a hallmark for communities throughout Houston. Since that time, the neighborhood has prospered and thrived while still retaining its natural history. Wildlife still migrates to the area that has been designated an official bird sanctuary.
Twenty-three miles northwest of downtown, Champion Forest is close to everything, founded around Champion Forest Drive, just north of FM 1960 and east of Highway 249. What is not immediately available within the community is only a beat away via US 290, and Interstate 45 with the Hardy and the Sam Houston Tollways as convenient alternatives.
Champion Forest offers a variety of lifestyle options, the fine patio homes of Champion Forest Villas to the expansive brick mansions lining Cypresswood. French and English traditional homes fill out quiet, wooded streets and feature spacious floor plans accentuated by high ceilings, elegant formals, ceramic tile and wood floors. Enforced deed restrictions prohibit contemporary designs and maintain the charming luxury of the neighborhood.
Students of Champion Forest attend schools in the highly rated Klein ISD. Brill Elementary is located within the neighborhood and older children attend Kleb Middle School and Klein High School just minutes away.
Champion Forest residents benefit from a strong civic club that sponsor seasonal events each year from the 4th of July Parade, to the Easter Egg Hunt and Halloween Happening. Champion Forest also has an active water board and over one hundred residents who serve as block captains to welcome new families and coordinate neighborhood happenings.
The Champion Forest Women’s Club was organized in 1978. Since that time they have been a unifying force within the community composing activities and groups to the benefit of the neighborhood.
